Luke mentally kicked himself for making the original allusion to the fight in the first place. Stupid, stupid, stupid. He should've known Lizzie would react this way. It was the last thing she needed, especially after she'd been so happy just a few moments ago. For a moment, Luke fervently wished he could trade his Force powers for the ability to rewind time (could anyone even do that?), but since that wasn't an option he settled for stroking some of Lizzie's hair back behind her ear and holding her a little closer, suppressing a gasp when her hand brushed his pants. Oh God. He wished she wouldn't do that.
"I'm fine, Lizzie. Really! No concussion or anything at all. I was just down for a few minutes and then I went home and no one was the wiser. And hey..." he gave a little smile, trying to encourage her to do the same. "In my defense, I had no idea that Mao was a secret ninja. It surprised the hell out of me, let me tell you." He rocked Lizzie back and forth in his arms, one hand continuing to stroke her hair while the other messaged the back of her neck. Hopefully this would pass soon. It was important to Luke to see Lizzie smile.
