Dietre lifted a shoulder in a half shrug when asked if he was hungry. Dietre was almost never hungry, especially not these days now that he had begun to eat more regularly. He took a tentative step toward Francis, canting his head to see what he was doing, but then seemed to think better of it and sank back against the fridge, leaning on it in a way that looked to be an attempt at being casual but was more like the boy needed it for security.
He fell silent and watched Francis scooping out the pumpkin from the safety of the fridge. The boy's presence was surely unnerving, as it looked like the only reason he was there was to stare at his guardian's back. Eventually, Dietre himself seemed to realize that was he was doing wasn't right, and he began to shift uncomfortably before speaking again.
"...I'm thinking about renaming Sydney...To 'Breve'." He wasn't good at small talk, yet here he was, trying to make it. "...What do you think?"
