Carter's heart pounded as he waited for her answer. He was wondering why he even asked...reassurance? I mean if she hated it did he really want that to hear that again. Now Laney never said it, but he just knew it, he could tell. Also...what if she like it? What would that mean? Carter had never really thought through the repercussions of his actions. If she liked it would she wanted something more...from their friendship. Also...was he really ready for that?
He was surprised how perfect Glory's answer was. It didn't say it was awful or that it was great. She really didn't have an opinion of it. Now it didn't really tell him how he was doing at improving, but at that moment...it quelled his current fears. He saw her fiddling with her hands as she continued. His heart fell, he stole her first kiss without asking. He ruined it for her,
"Oh Glory, I'm sorry. Don't say no big deal. You probably had something really romantic and special in your mind. Not dorky me in my kitchen while waiting for freezer pizza to cook." He rubbed the back of his neck then reached out with his hand to touch her forehead. Carter scrunched his eyes closed and concentrated. He wished with all his might that he could erase her thoughts, make her forget him as her first kiss. So that she could have the one she always wanted. He knew he must look totally ridiculous to her so he voiced his thoughts, "I'm trying to erase that memory so when you get kissed next it's perfect and special and everything you always dreamed it would be." Now he knew he couldn't really erase her thoughts, but he thought him at least wishing and hoping would make Glory forgive him.
