Alfie wasn't worried about the noise. Either way, the bleachers were going to fall anyway and going to make the same noise as they did when he dropped them. It wasn't his responsibility to take care of the bleachers. Only the kittens. He picked two of them up, wondering where they were going to live now that their bleacher protection had been taken away. He had a feeling his mother wouldn't approve of five orphan kittens running around their house. But he had to do something. They needed a good home.
He looked up at Josie suddenly, as if he'd only just noticed her. And really, he had. "Oh yeah, Josie." He'd probably seen her around a few times and at the Allen house when he hung out with JJ. But he didn't tend to pay attention much. "Yeah, I'm Alfie. So like, how do you run so fast? I hardly even saw you move."
