Who: Evan and Liz What: he has decided that he needs to see a shrink Why: um, duh, he's seeing thangs When: today-ish? sometime this week anyway Rated: R for Evan's language-- his mouth never ceases to amaze me
Evan swallowed and pushed open the door to the loony doctor's office. He had been debating all week whether or not to go and had finally decided to bite the bullet. Enough was enough. He had seen something that obviously hadn't taken place. Apparently there was photographic proof and he couldn't argue with tangible evidence that Natalie was not where he thought she was on the night of the incident. Heresay was one thing, but pictures were another. Even he couldn't deny that something sounded fishy and he was positive that had it been anyone else, he would have called them barking mad.
He fidgeted at the counter as he waited in line to check in. It felt like every eye in the waiting room was on him. He was obviously paranoid, something that he read on the internet that apparently went hand and hand with schizophrenia. That and a whole slew of other things that he wasn't exactly sure about but was confident that a trained professional was. She'd know and be able to tell him once and for all that he either was a psycho or wasn't.
Of course, the more desired outcome was that he was just tired or something. Overworked and stressed? But living nightmares? And lately it seemed like time was moving a lot slower. Or maybe he was just moving extra fast? It was hard to tell, but he knew it wasn't normal. If his perception of the world was off, then he'd have to get it fixed. And fast.
"Mr. Elwood? Dr. Spinelli will see you now." Evan stood, not even realizing that he had sat down, or that about twenty minutes had passed. Geez. He blinked and shook his head, trying to shake out whatever was fogging up his brain. No luck. He followed the assistant or nurse or whatever she was down a hall, past a series of doors and into an office. It looked comfy. He sat down in one of the chairs opposite a pretty blonde woman he recognized around town. He waited. Damned if he spoke first.
