It was Friday afternoon. And while most other kids were off playing in the park or going to the movie theater or having pizza parties with their friends, Jacen Allen was studying. Studying, after all, was what Jacen Allen did best. He could memorize anything he wanted just by looking at it. It was almost as if his mind was a book with trillions of pages of information, divided and subdivided into categories that allowed him to pinpoint the appropriate information whenever necessary. Kind of like a library. Perhaps that was one of the reasons why he liked it in here so much. It was quiet and organized . It made sense. Many other things in life, like the social order of things and his sister, didn't make sense to him at all.
Today's topic of studying interest was Astrophysics. Since he couldn't take the class in school, Jacen figured he would simply find as many books on the subject as possible from the library and just read up on it himself. Having a great memory tended to help in this matter, because if ever he didn't quite understand something, he could try and look it up somewhere else. Believe it or not, there were things that Jacen didn't actually know, but he was looking to remedy that. Ignoring the tiny headache that was already forming at the base of his temple, Jacen read through the complex books that most students wouldn't even think twice about opening. They were thick, old tomes that contained a plethora of information left untouched for ages. Perhaps the information was dated, but Jacen didn't mind. If he believed something was incorrect, he would look it up elsewhere.
