They had shown up pretty early, about an hour before the time Fletch had mentioned to others interested in joining. He always liked to inspect the field beforehand, mapping out any holes or any other accident-inducing perks to the field. Satisfied enough with the quality of the grass and the levelness of the ground, Fletch nodded his head toward the car, and Holmes bolted off, getting there first and pulling some equipment out of the back seat.
The set-up didn't take as long as it had the last time, and he started to wonder how smart Holmes really was, but just considered himself lucky that his dog seemed to be able to read his mind.
When everything was all ready, Fletch grabbed what passed for lunch when he was cooking, and dropped a dish down for Holmes. It was around 12:50 when they finished up, and Fletch made the mistake of wanting to take out the ball and try to make a few shots. It was then that Holmes dashed around him and made a goal. It was nice to see Holmes livening up after being inside for the better part of the week, outside of their regular runs, because of Fletch's work schedule. But there was that look in his eyes that really just meant he was screwed.
