Seth's thoughts were still swirling with his confusion over Macy. Now Seth didn't normally think too long on one girl, but Macy was different, she wasn't easy to read. She had all the control in their encounters and he hated not being in control. But he knew if he tried to take control in the situations he would scare her away. Or...maybe she was waiting for that. Seth groaned as he buried his finger in his hair. She was so confusing. Watching a few hours of mindless television managed to quiet his thoughts...well slightly. Every now and then she'd pop back in his mind. He knew he had to go into his classes tomorrow and him looking tired and haggard wouldn't go over well so he decided to go to bed.
After a few hours of tossing and turning Seth managed to drift off to sleep. He found himself in a white space of nothingness and glanced around a little frantic. Where was he? He was about to shout out for someone when he heard a voice, "Seth?" He knew that voice and sharply turned around to see Macy standing in, what looked like, the living room of his apartment. She looked beautiful as always. Sure not as dressed down as she was when he visited her home, but not overly made up.
"Macy? What..what are you doing here? I mean you're always welcome I'm just..."
"Shhh," Macy cut him off as she approached him and pressed an index finger against his lips, "Don't ramble...not now."
"Sorry, I'm just a little..." 'stunned' he added to himself, "surprised to see you here." He didn't remember inviting her over so did she come over her under her own accord? Now that seemed strange but hey he wasn't going to question it. Macy smiled up at him, it looked slightly strained,
"Seth, I came over tonight to ask you something. It's sort of important."
"Okay," he crossed his arms. He'd answer whatever she wanted him to answer.
"Why should I trust you, I mean you've made it obvious you are interested, but...you have...that reputation and I don't know why I should believe that I'd be any different than those other girls." Seth was stunned. Macy was usual tight lipped about her emotions, and she asked him that. Now her fears made sense, he knew he'd wonder the same thing if he was her...also if he had a moral compass like her's.
"Macy," he put his hands on her shoulders, "you are different. You make me feel things I don't think I've felt before. You're different, you're smart, you're beautiful, you're interesting." He moved his hand to cup the side of her face, "Jerks like Noah don't deserve you. Come to think of it...neither do I...but I don't care. I think I love you Macy, I would never let any harm come to you, I'll always be there to protect you."
Seth gazed into her eyes that were glistening with unshed tears as she smiled. Now had Seth not been so caught up in everything he probably would have noticed that Macy wasn't exactly acting like herself. She was acting much more receptive to his actions. Basically she was responding exactly the way he wanted. He smiled and brushed the pad of his thumb against her cheek and started to lean in to kiss her.
