"Yeah make up is for losers," she retorted, giving an uneasy laugh. Her sister always looked so pretty when she wore make up. Laney knew someday she'd probably start wearing it, but for now, she didn't think she needed it. And if Alfie liked her without it, then she really didn't need it.
"Ow," she laughed when his fingers got caught in her hair. "I do, but it's windy out here, and its hot so it's all knotty and stuff. Sorry." She made a note to ask her sister about hair products as soon as she was sober. She didn't want anyone getting their hands stuck in her hair ever again. Slightly embarrassed, she cleared her throat and waited until he finally freed himself. It was only then did she realize just how close they were. He was practically hugging her, only not really.
She looked at him, feeling a blush creep over her. "Um Alfie?" Her voice sounded anxious. She had a terribly urge to grab his face and kiss him. "Can I...um...Can I kiss you?"
