"I think Maine is out there. And beyond that...New England and Canada. But like...you mean like the end of the world shit? Like it's flat and stuff? I don't know. Water and more water and a bunch of continents." She shrugged. Laney wasn't preoccupied with getting off the island like most of her classmates were. For one, she was too young to be worried about something like that. For another, she really didn't have any reason to leave. Of course, it would be cool to see Italy and Greece and Japan and all those cool places, but if she never got to, it wasn't like she'd die or anything. The only thing Laney was concerned about was getting away from her parents, and not even both of them-- just her father. But right now? Right now, she just cared about beer. And Alfie.
"Anyways, didn't Luke Fox try to float away and get taken to a crazy hospital?" She drank until the bottle was only half full, tipping her head back and closing her eyes as she sipped. This one tasted slightly better than the first if only because she didn't taste it as much. Her head was starting to feel just a touch more heavy, especially when she turned it fast. And her eyes were just taking a second longer to focus. She still didn't feel drunk, though.
