"Yes maam," he joked as Josie pulled him along by his hand once more into the diner. It occurred to Brendan holding hands with her this way felt like a kid that needed to have their hand held when they crossed the road. He wasn't complaining because she had very soft hands and later they would probably end up being all over him. She could hold his hand as much as she wanted to. He jumped around her and opened the door, following her inside.
The smell of food overwhelmed him as they entered and he couldn't wait to start eating. When they found a table, he took a menu and immediately began looking it over. It was becoming somewhat quiet for a moment, sharing silence. Brendan glanced over the top the of the menu, "How's your brother? I don't mean to pry or anything but you said something about your brother when we were at Pearson's the other night."
