Who: Macy and Tristan What: hanging signs about Haiti Where: town, but starting outside the cafe When: Monday afternoon Rated: TBA
Macy stood on her toes and pushed the thumb tacks into the telephone pole. The paper, advertising her canned good drive for Haiti, blew a bit in the wind but lay flat when she pushed the last tack in. She stepped back, brushed off her hands and smiled. It felt good to help out. There weren't any blood banks in town that she could donate to, so this felt like the next best thing. Everyone was donating money. She wanted to do something a little different.
"One down, nineteen more to go," she said to herself, picking up her backpack from where it lay on the sidewalk. She opened it up and took another flyer out, this time stepping up to the cafe window and taping it there. She smiled again and slung her bag over her shoulder, deciding to head to the beaches next. There were plenty of people who frequented them, even in winter. It was an easy way to get the word out.
She was about halfway there, when she recognized someone walking in the opposite direction, towards her. She smiled and waved, quickening her pace a bit to catch up. "Hey!"
