"Everyone's cool with it because... well, because it's cool," she grinned. "What you did took a lot of guts, Luke. I really admire that." She kept grinning like an idiot as she affectionately punched him in the arm, which messed up his guitar playing, so she held out her hands apologetically. "Sorry."
She was normally a lot more focused than this, but today was different. She felt at ease. Maybe his presence affected her that way, or maybe it was because her mother wasn't around to piss her off. Either way, she zoned out for a minute before realizing that Luke had asked her a question. "Oh, right! Check this out!" She pulled out her cell and accessed the web to show him.
"Emily Elwood sent this poem to me to use for one of our songs. I thought we could do something with it." Looking at it again, she was still quite impressed with Emily's writing abilities. "It's really good, huh?" She imagined how excited Emily would be to hear her words put to music, and it got her creative juices flowing. After she pulled the phone away, she said, "We gotta use this. Please, say we can?" She then gave him a sad puppy face. It probably wasn't necessary, but she just felt like doing it.
