"Well... yes. That's true. But that's all the more reason for people not to believe us, right?" Luke made a few more X's in the sand and glanced over at Mao's prone figure. He was a little miffed at Mao's making fun of him, but as Luke looked back over his list he realized that he kind of had ignored his suggestions. But whatever. They were dumb suggestions. His were better anyway. He rolled his eyes when Mao called him a dork. "Yeah. I'm the one hopelessly obsessed with Batman. I'm such a dork."
Luke looked out over the bay, watching the light ripples in the water. The water looked so clear, so harmless, but now Luke knew better. He shivered a little and hugged his shoulders before glancing back down at Mao. "I kinda get that, though. I mean, it's a freaky thing and it's not supposed to be happening, and typically in those sorts of situations you wanna keep that shit a secret." His brow furrowed a little in puzzlement at Mao's smirk; he could see the pain in it, as well-hidden as it was. "Well... yeah. That was my plan actually. I assume people are gonna wanna talk to me now that I'm back and I can sort of try to direct the conversation, maybe." He was quiet and turned his gaze back out across the rippling bay for a moment before his eyes were tugged back to Mao. "Are you okay?"
