"I think we already look like weirdo freakazoids." For reasons that had nothing to do with powers. The whole James announcing their oh so secret kind of what-the-fuck romance thing did nothing good for their reputations. Mao never had a good one to begin with, but Luke's sure took a dive, though his escape adventure gave him back some respectability.
Mao rolled his eyes as Luke ignored his suggestions and began to write, "Oh, yeah, okay, go ahead and use your fancy words." Intangibility? Please. Mao just outright laughed when Lukas used the phrase, 'par for the course'. "Oh, my God, you are such a dork." He flopped onto his back in the sand beside Lukas' list, squinting in the sun. He might have been being a joking brat, but it wasn't like he wasn't taking this seriously. He was. He just didn't know how to behave during a serious conversation, it made him uncomfortable. Conspiracies and intrigue were a lot less fun than he thought they'd be. He was sure if they had a little more to go on, things to actually do, then this whole thing would be really exciting. At the moment he was feeling frustrated and helpless, two emotions he really hated.
"That'll work only if the people we know who have powers are okay with other people knowing. Right now, they totally aren't." He groaned in annoyance and kicked up little puffs of sand. "And, like, I don't think I'm someone that people would want to confide in, if you know what I mean. You, though. Everybody likes you." He smirked a little, but there was something unhappy in it. "All the girls like you, I bet you could get them to tell you stuff."
