Mao didn't put as much of a fuss over having his hair ruffled as he normally would have, the fact Lukas was being in any way affectionate made his insides fluttery. His emotions were seesawing like crazy, fear and frustration over the mysteries of their island on one side, and elation and hope over being with Lukas on the other. "I could handle a lightsaber. Does that make me an honorary Jedi?" Not that he really wanted to be one. An honorary Batman was much better.
He blinked, disturbed by Lukas' tale. "Whaaa?" He blinked again, brow furrowed. "...You think this is all some creepy military thing to make like...super people for weapons or some shit?" He shook his head, completely forgetting about the ice cream running over his fingers. "That's the only reason I can even think of to want someone who can make force fields, or do what I can do, or go through walls." He made a little noise, making it clear he hadn't meant to say that last bit.
He huffed, Luke had told him a secret, so he should probably tell him a few too. But he just couldn't out James and Katie. He couldn't. But he could dance around it.
"I..uh...Look, I can't name names, but I figure we should like, make a list of the powers we know about. Calvin, as far as I know, can see the future. I know someone who can walk through walls and things like that. ...And I know someone who can see the past." He squirmed uncomfortably.
"I think Calvin saw something really, really bad when we were camping, but he didn't say what. ...Think it has to do with this X-1 thing?"
