"You're lucky I'm being a good guy about it, or you'd lose more than you're ice cream by the time I was through with you. "Mao's reproachful look lasted about five more seconds before he gave it up and replaced it with a beaming grin. Fuck. He was being a complete dork and he knew it, but he couldn't help himself. "Yeah, I know, I know, you're dumb." He smirked teasingly and let his beach gear drop to the sand. Gah, it was hot, not like the last time they were here. Summer was in full-on mode, and his bubble gum ice cream was already getting runny.
Mao wore board shorts, a tank top, flip flops, and smelled like sun block. The sun and his pale skin weren't friends. He kicked off his flip flops and promptly got his feet in the water. He couldn't seem to keep his eyes off of Lukas for more than a minute or two, as though he couldn't quite believe he was really there.
"So...so...Should we go right into your shocking, horrible news? Or pretend we have normal lives for a little longer?"
