Calvin laughed a little at Emily's obvious surprise. Apparently it had been a very well-kept secret, on he'd really only disclosed to Vivian, and even then it was only under the threat of tickle torture. "It's all right, Em. I'm over it. Obviously. But you see? People can move on from these sorts of things and not be hurt. You aren't doomed forever, powers or no powers. I promise."
Calvin flinched as she latched onto the future-seeing idea. It had been stupid of him to use it as an example. He pressed his lips together tightly for a moment, unsure of what to do. "I..." Calvin looked around quickly and lowered his voice a little. "Emily... you have to swear not to tell anyone else about this. But I... I really understand what you're going through. Trust me, I would trade my... ability for yours in a second." He paused. "Actually, strike that. I wouldn't wish that on you, not in a thousand years." He bowed his head a little, his eyes closed for a moment before they fluttered open. "That day I had that episode during the camping trip... well, that was... a-an example." He shuddered just thinking about it. "I saw so many awful things."
