Emily nodded slightly with her eyebrows raised a little half smile on her face. She noticed he almost said it in a joking manner, but knew that he wasn't trying to be funny. What had been going on since Songbird's posts was hardly a joking matter. She leaned into his hug, she missed this, she missed him.
"Just a lot of stuff really, I'm just really worried about Jacen and him pushing me aways like that just kind of hurts. I mean I know what heartbreak feels like, you know that. Mine didn't happen that long ago, so I mean I know what he's feeling all too well." She shook that feeling off, she decided to focus on the task at hand. He was probably curious about why she wanted him to bring rain gear. He'd thank her later.
Emily stood up and put on her rain jacket, it was a clear day. Neutral, not super sunny, but not rainy or anything else really. She turned back to face Calvin, "Calvin, you know how I always joked about how I had that bond with the elements, well...apparently it's not joke. Also you should put your jacket on now." She sat down next to him again and pulled the hood up as she looked at the sky, "Okay, probably the easiest emotion for me to channel right now is sadness, so I'm going to make it rain." Emily shut her eyes and focused on what she was feeling now. Jacen pushing her away, him not wanting anything to do with her, and that nothing could ever happen between them because of this stupid curse of hers. She then heard the rain start to pound on the cement. She opened her eyes and looked at the once clear sky filled with clouds.
She didn't dare look over at Calvin, she had to finish up the demonstration, one change wasn't enough, "Now I don't want to be sad anymore I'll focus on happy things, and it will be sunny and warm." She shut her eyes and focused on good things, hiking, Evan's hugs, girl talk with Katie, making mud pies with Calvin when they were kids, and she risked the thought of the smile Jacen gave her at the camping trip. She heard the rain stop and soon felt the warm rays of the sun caress her face. She opened her eyes and noticed the sky was clear again and the sun shone brightly. Emily then glanced over at Calvin slightly nervous at what his reaction would be. And if her demonstration wasn't enough she decided to state the obvious, "I can control the weather."
