Was she surprised? Honestly – only at first. There was something about the girl that screamed his name, in Vivian’s opinion. So why was it that she only saw it once Em had said something about it? It just seemed silly… But now that she had – she had actually accepted it, and now it would plague her for all of her lonely moments when she would wish Jacen were there.
“I certainly missed a lot on this trip, didn’t I?” She tried to give Emily a reassuring smile, but wasn’t totally sure that it did anything. “You know what I always tell Calvin? There I nothing that is unconquerable - there is ALWAYS a way. If you want this, Emily, go for it. I can help, if you want. But there shouldn’t be anything that gets in your way. I can’t say if I have ever loved someone like that. Besides Calvin, of course, but that… it is totally and completely different.” She was starting to babble again… Why did she always do that?
“And if there is pain… well there is always pain. In everything. Honestly, if you want to spend your forever with him, then why not? Isn’t pain worth it?”
She got up off of the couch and kneeled in front of Emily, taking her hands. "If it takes a bit, then you just need to be patient. What I'm telling isn't impossible," she told her confidently, and she really hoped that she saw it as such.
