You probably had to be living under a rock somewhere on the island to not know who Eli Winters was, and Sebastian Sullivan was not one for hanging out under many rocks. True, Bastian's only memory that immediately came to mind came from being younger and terrified to go up to the house and ask if he could retrieve his ball that a friend had kicked over their back fence one day. It wasn't so much being afraid of Mr. Winters as just all adults in general at time time. He was still getting used to the idea as being seen as more of an equal and less of the brat kid that could talk a mile a minute without seeming to take a breath. Though he could still do that if he got off on something too long on a particular subject. He was a little nervous when he had first gotten the assignment. Partly just trying to come up with questions that wouldn't come across as too personal, but also not wanting it to come across as someone who had only gone looking through the public records. It was a fine line to try and walk with very likely the oldest man living on Frye Island.
He checked his watch before approaching the house. Sebastian had called and set up a time, but he didn't want to be there too early and catch him off guard. He had come prepared though with a digital tape-recorder and his usual notebook and writing utensils. Some people weren't really comfortable with the tape-recorder being there, afraid they would say something offhand and then have it stuck there forever where anyone might get a hold of it. Apparently they had less faith in Sebastian's memory and generally good hearing. Double checking his appearance in a window reflection though he knocked, hoping 5 minutes wasn't too much to be early.
