Given Katie's back was pressed against his chest, Calvin could easily feel that quickness of her heart and the brokenness of her breath, both reactions that made his own heart start to beat a little faster. His touches became a little lighter, a little more hesitant at first, but then less so. Katie liked it, after all, and he wasn't about to question her. He dipped his head a little closer to her neck so that his lips brushed against it as he responded.
"That's a good point. But obviously they should be more understanding. You broke your leg after all." He paused for a moment. "I'm so glad that's better now. You recovered so fast." Calvin still hadn't figured out how she'd managed that. From what he'd seen, she'd still been limping and in pain one day, and then suddenly she was dancing on her once-broken foot the next. Something seemed incongruous, and he had no idea what could have caused such a speedy recovery short of a miracle. Or possibly... something else.
