Who: Dorian and Amorisa Rains <3
What: Dorian is lonely.
When: Nighttime!
Where: Amy's room.
Rating: Doubtfully any higher than PG.
It was dark and stifling. The room was suffocating, as if the air was being sucked out, the constant ticking of the wall clock deafening in Dorian's ears. It was one of those nights where reality was unbearable, frightening even, and he could barely take it. He wanted to get up and scream, to smash the closest thing he could reach, to make the horrible mundane ticking and the terrible quiet stop. He resisted, but barely. Dorian exhaled and rolled over, pressing his pillow against his ears, as if it would help the anxiety he felt when faced with nothingness, but it didn't.
Only a few more minutes passed before Dorian practically leapt up out of his bed, unable to take it anymore. He felt anxious, alone, and most disturbed, and he knew there was no reason. There was nothing odd about tonight, the quiet was as ordinary as always. But he could not bear it. He could not stand being alone, forced to spend time with nothing but his thoughts, quiet all around him, accusing. He needed some sort of distraction, something to snap him out of this odd feeling. He didn't know what was wrong with him, there was anxiety wrapped up with repressed rage, a need for something -- but what? He did not know. These feelings had plagued him for the past few months, moreso than usual. The only way he could sleep lately was by passing out from exhaustion or being with Amorisa, often in the daytime when he should be doing anything but sleeping.
He needed his sister.
Dorian was in nothing but a pair of old, raggedy shorts that he often slept in. Shirts felt constricting, and he did not consider putting one on just because he was going to visit his Amy. He was as quiet as he could be, quickly making his way to her room. It was late, well past midnight, but surely she wouldn't mind a visit from her brother? He knew that her presence eased his pain, shouldn't his presence be beneficial to her, as well?
The door creaked ever so slightly as he came in, and he made sure to close it as quietly as possible. He did not want to wake his father up, he would surely force Dorian back into his own room, finding it inappropriate the amount of time he enjoyed spending with his sister. The thought made Dorian frown. He was at Amy's bed within seconds, and here he did not bother trying to quiet himself. He very well may have been making more noise than necessary on purpose, hoping that she would wake from her slumber and greet him.
"Hello, Amy." He said quietly into her ear as he made himself comfortable.
