"I don't know," Casey drawled as she leaned against the wall, "the kittens talk too, but they're only babies so they don't say much."
It was awesome, the way that Calvin just accepted her talking to the animals. It made her feel comfortable enough to "joke" about the kittens. Besides, as grown up as he might be, he definitely wasn't too old to enjoy the playfulness of it all. She reached down herself and picked up a little black kitten with legs too long for its body. It purred and turned around in her palm before it walked up her shoulder and sat down on her shoulder, purring against her near, curled against her neck.
"They are gorgeous, so trusting at this age. Open to anything and anyone as long as you love them." She hitched her shoulder a little and the kitten blinked at Calvin before it tipped its head and nibbled on Casey's ear. "He likes you."
