Who: Emily & Max What: A long overdue talk Where: The park When: Thursday, May 27th, after school. Rating: Low (maybe some language, but nothing major) Status: In-Progress
After school that day Emily decided to enjoy the sun while it was out. With all those random showers she wanted to enjoy the sun while she could. She knew the perfect spot, underneath one of the big trees in the park, it was her favorite spots. A beautiful view and she stayed cool in the shade of the tree. She normally went there to write poetry, but not today, she hadn't really been inspired after the storm, more precisely after Max broke her heart. Strangely enough it didn't upset her as much as it used to, she guessed she was healing.
As she entered the park and saw the tree she grinned a twirled a piece of her brown hair around her finger. After her party she decided that blonde really wasn't her color and also it was much to stressful. There were so many expectations to live up to. Also her new waredrobe sitll had some of her new stuff, but she combined it with her old stuff. So now it was more mature, but she was still her. As she took her seat underneath the tree and tucked her hair behind her ears she opened her backpack and pulled out a book with "Dune" on the front. She had taken Jacen's advice and started reading the book, it wasn't bad. A little hard to understand at time, but she wasn't that far in it at the moment, she assummed that once it went on it would become easier. What she could get so far is that it's in the future and there are these royal houses who control stuff and they answer to this emperor. One of the houses is scaring the emperor because the leader of that house is becoming really popular. Also there is this spice that is super important because it makes people really alert and extends their life. But that was about all she had so far, she planned on calling or texting Jacen later to ask if she was on track so far.
She opened the book and her eyes scanned over the page delving into the fictional world of the future. Emily didn't know what it was but she felt this pull on her heart and she looked up at that moment to see the last person she wanted to see. Not Casey, but Max. All her thoughts about being completely healed were torn away. Seeing him walking there reopened all the wounds and it was all the more painful. It felt like her heart had been ripped out and stomped on again. It was easier to heal without seeing him, but now here he was. A chill came to the air but she barely noticed as she tried to hold in her tears. He didn't seem to notice her yet, maybe he wouldn't see her. Emily put her book up again hoping he wouldn't know it was her and just continue on. However, fate apparently had other plans.
