Tommy nodded at Saya's correct interpretation of the situation. Even kids in middle school were capable of understanding how to barter effectively and the aspiring actors and actresses were no exception. Of course, it was always interesting to barter with them, as they tended to go for roles or songs to sing instead of something like money for favors or homework assignments.
"Especially when the only people who will hang out with you are your siblings, and that's only on their good days when they don't want to kick you in the teeth for being an obnoxious little brother." Tommy shrugged at the thought. He had friends but he liked to stick around his siblings, no matter how they treated him. He looked over at Saya when she suggested going to the lighthouse with someone. "That sounds nice." Tommy fidgeted around in his chair awkwardly and turned back to the music with pink cheeks.
He rolled his eyes and started going over the song in his head, occasionally humming bits and pieces out loud. "Too complicated for me," he lied, trying to pass the sheet back to Saya. It really wasn't, but he tried to make it look like he was seriously overwhelmed by the music.
