She quirked a brow at the speed at which he answered her question. She didn't doubt his sincerity. She knew he made other people pay. She even knew that Alfie had to pay, even though things had been weird between them lately (though, admittedly, not as weird as she'd expected after breaking up with him). But still. To make her pay double, even if it was a hypothetical situation... well. It just wasn't right.
"It's not my fault they're trying to fail me." She waved her hand dismissively toward the bed where her bag was sitting. "And there's candy in my backpack. Help yourself." It was only Skittles, but candy was candy.
