It wasn't so much that JJ wasn't afraid, but he was also sort of apathetic towards the feelings of others as well. And he was taking a somewhat logical stance on the whole thing. Not that anything Alfie did was logical. But he was fueled by more passion than JJ. Like the Kirk to his (slightly demented, and somewhat devious) Spock. Bad Spock. Spock's evil twin brother. Okay, sort of bad analogy.
As if on cue, JJ yawned and stretched, "Yeah, okay. It's what we were going to do before you decided you wanted to make out, right?" He grinned, cheekily."
