Gabby looked around frantically and checked to make sure that everything she needed was packed. Tristan had most of her things in his car with his things but she had one more bag of things that she had been piling up for the baby that she still needed to toss in the car before they were leaving. While Seth had been out, she had decided to pack up all of her things that she needed. There were remnants of her belongings still in the house like her bathrobe in the bathroom still and her dresser still lined with make up and a few bras on the door knob, but the things she knew she was going to need were all packed away.
Tristan had run back to his apartment to grab a few more things of his own before they were leaving. He had convinced her that she needed to get out of Hellfire. If not for her sake, then for the sake of her baby. Gabby didn't take much convincing, considering she had already been thinking about it after the first few bombings. She loved Seth unconditionally but when innocent people were being harmed, that was the straw that broke this camel's back. What was to stop him from hurting her and the baby if she stepped out of line? Or if the baby didn't do what he wanted her to do some day? Would he just erase her memory and start over? Would he have other Hellfire members restrain her?
Gabby couldn't do it anymore. Her stress levels were through the roof and she knew that it was probably doing damage to the baby already. She needed to get out, and today was the day she was leaving. No note, no teary good bye, just a clean sever from this life.
She heard the door open and close. Someone had come into their home. "Tristan?" Gabby didn't hear anything. Maybe he was texting someone back and wasn't paying full attention to her. With one hand on the nightstand to brace herself, Gabby eased herself down and grabbed the small duffel bag with baby clothes in it. "I'm all set to go, if you are." She eased her way back up and started to make her way down the hallway to the front of the house.
