Abby looked at Carter incredulously as he admitted to being at fault and then managed to turn it around on her. "Oh I'm sorry, you were just off getting famous. I didn't think you had time for all of the ghosts of your past life that have been trying to get in on your fame and fortune." Abby emphasized specific words in her speech, still bitter about what he had said to her earlier.
She dropped the necklace and let it rest against her shirt. Part of her wanted to rip it off and throw it at him. He didn't seem to care - he was so absorbed in how he felt, how he was affected, how he didn't have a significant other right now. But Abby stopped herself from ripping it off and turned to look at Carter. "I'll just lea--"
She was cut short by Carter kissing her. Her body tensed as he cupped her face and kissed her. Abby had been expecting him to show her the door and tell her it was too late, the damage was already done. But instead he was ... kissing her? She started to ease into his familiar lips that she had missed but she stopped and pulled away, inches separating their faces. A confused look spread over her face. "What are you doing? You just said you were trying to move on..."
