"Was I? Well..." Lawrence looked flattered. He was proud of his own work, of course, but there was nothing quite so satisfying as knowing that other people recognized your talent. He wondered who exactly had recommended him, but knew enough social etiquette to refrain from asking. He didn't want to seem desperate for praise.
Instead, he flashed a brilliant smile and attempted a chuckle. "That's good to know. I, ah, do... have... openings... I mean, my schedule. I'm accepting new patients, that is. Regulars. I can guarantee my work for up to five years. Though warranties vary, depending on what you have done. Was... your last surgery done through GeneCo?"
It seemed likely. Most were. But there was an outside chance that she'd had something more recent done by someone else... possibly internal, as her face was flawless. She didn't seem to be healing.
