I used to watch this when I was a kid. I don't if it came of TV or if I watched in on VHS... But I do know that the older I get, the more hilarious this cartoon gets. I still CAN'T believe it was banned. Tex Avery was a cartoon genius.

Join [info]you_tube_links to watch crazy videos, upload your own, and get into discussions about the films while you're there.

The [info]holiday_wishes Comm is officially open! Time to break out the wishes, gifts, holiday spirit, good cheer, and all that other sappy rot ;)

At Holiday Wishes everyone is invited to post a list of up to TEN things they really really want. After you post your wishes, check out other people's, and if it is in your heart and ability to do so, make someone's wish come true! Other holiday related posts are welcomed as well (such as DIY gift ideas, charity links, or sharing a special activity or recipe that your family has for the winter holidays)

Be sure to check out the guidelines and faqs!

NOTE: While Holiday wishes began on Livejournal and continues strong there, a number of people requested a mirrored community here on Insane Journal. If you interact both on Livejournal and Insanejournal, you may post your wishlist (with the same wishes!) to the Holiday Wishes communities on both journaling communities.

art, poetry, hacking - 3 new asylums

I wandered over from LJ, like so many others, seeking asylum, and I like it here.
But I noted a lack of appropriate therapy for those with certain afflictions that plague me.
As such, I created:

- [info]poesias for the poetically afflicted. Post your poetry in any language.
- [info]artgallery for the artistically afflicted. Post your artwork.
- [info]softwarefreedom for the technologically afflicted. Fans of gnu, linux, bsd, open source, free software, open standards, open file formats, hacking, etc.

Shitty Advise

Please check out my new humor asylum, [info]shittyadvice, where we give and receive shitty advice. Inspired by the Livejournal shitty advice community, it will have a unique form of sarcasm and silliness, lots of fun.

Random icons I've made, most recently including the art of Ivan Bilibin and mosaics. I'm also now iconning PBs, including Udo Kier and Josh Lucas. Posts are friends locked, and you'll need to join to see the icons. Other subjects include frogs, lizards, hummingbirds, Egypt, Turkiye, and fish.

Kitty Icons

Any feline icons and graphics (housecat, tiger, bobcat, etc.), whether drawn or photographed, are welcome here. Have a cute kitten or cat that you've iconned? Post it here! Membership is open and you can find a list of our rules here. Posts are automatically friends-locked, so you will need to join in order to view most icons in the community.

[info]archaeology is a place to discuss archaeological topics and news, no matter the continent or time period. Rules are posted here.

NSFW Icons

This community features icons that are not safe for work and focuses on erotica and kink. Our rules can be found here. Because of the explicit nature of the icons and graphics, you must be 18 or older to join. When you put in your request to join, we'll go to your profile page and see if your FULL birthdate indicates that you're of age: your year of birth MUST be displayed. If your date of birth isn't displayed we won't let you in. So make sure your birthdate is visible when you apply, and at least until we've given you access. If you receive a rejection notice after applying, it's because you are either not 18 OR you do not have your date of birth displayed in your profile. "Watching" the community will not allow you to view posts unless you're also a member.

Live or Love California? Here's a comm:

I'm a Canadian, who's moving to California in the next month, and couldn't find an active California community here.

So I made one. It's still new, and I'm working on a proper layout and such, but come join. Suggestions are always welcome. :)

The Macintosh Asylum

Hi, my name is Dave, and I'm a Macoholic.

Far from an expert myself, I once turned regularly to the Mac-related comms on VileJournal for information and assistance. But, that was then; this is now. In the process terminating my association with VJ, it became clear that there were no such asylums for Mac users here at InsaneJournal. So I created one. Someone had to. Still no expert, it is my hope that [info]macintosh will eventually grow to serve the same purpose as those comms on VJ -- people helping people -- but without the New And Improved™ nanny-state/corporate-whore culture that now poisons VJ from the top down.

We're off to a slow start, but even despite my customary negligence, this asylum has continued to grow, bit by bit. I will continue to post about critical updates for Mac users, and Really Big News in the world of Apple. As things pick up, it may be necessary for me to hand off maitenance/moderation to others, but you have my solemn promise: this asylum will not be orphaned. Unless I die unexpectedly. But I can't seem to find a spot for that on my calendar. So, if you're a Mac user, please join the Macintosh asylum, and help us help each other.

[info]ardathicons is just my little bitty asylum where I post icons I've made and am willing to share. I have a huge backlog of icons to put up in the near future, too. All are work-safe. On most, credit is appreciated but not required (the few exceptions are always noted). It's friends-locked because there was a blatant icon-thief running around IJ a few months ago and I didn't feel inclined to make her hijinks easier, but membership is open, so you can join and enjoy. It won't break your flist either, because I put all of the icons under a cut with a maximum of three teaser images visible above the cut.

All the pretty things...

A place to discuss shoes, makeup, skincare, accessories, boots, hair, and all the other lovely things that make life so very, very pretty.

Progressive politics

There's an exciting Democratic primary, an unpopular war, and oh yeah, the economy's going to hell. Come talk with other progressives in [info]forwardthinking, where "liberal" isn't a dirty word.

(not my own asylum)

"This community was created to provide support for those dealing with depression and related issues, such as anxiety. If you suffer from depression, or have suffered from depression, or know someone who suffers from depression, feel free to join: share your stories, exchange advice, discuss treatment options, rant about the experience of being depressed in a society singly devoted to happiness."

The 80's!

A community to reminisce about the 1980s, including fads, movies, television, music, fashion, news, events, and anything else of note that happened during that decade. You can find a list of rules here.

(promoted on behalf of a friend)

From the userinfo:
This comm was made to give a place on IJ for those who are sober and want to stay that way, or trying to find sobriety.

Whether you're looking for help, or just looking for someone to talk to who understands, I'm hoping this can be the place.

We're neither pro- nor anti-AA - I personally choose not to follow that path, but no-one will be thrown out for being involved in it, I believe everyone should follow the path that helps them most.

Random icons I've made, most recently Saturn and St. Lucia. Posts are friends locked, and you'll need to join to see the icons. Other subjects include frogs, lizards, hummingbirds, Egypt, Turkey, and fish.
