Heath almost jumped when Ren settled on his shoulder. It was unexpected, especially after what the two had gone through recently. But, it was the th ought that counted. Heath would probably have petted the bird, if it hadn't been for not knowing which part of Ren he might actually be touching.
A laugh erupted when there was suddenly a monkey on his shoulder. "You think I'm some sort of jungle gym?" Heath asked, his voice still a little drowsy but the adrenaline would take care of that in short order. "And you're welcome. Saw your bed. Maybe we should get you one of those memory foam mattresses?" At least that way, there wouldn't be any springs to break. "I'm...glad," heath said, a shadow of the past crossing over his eyes. "All heeled then?" He wouldn't comment on the monkey junk brushing his shoulder. Nope, he was going to stay quiet.
