WHO Pete and YOU? YOU, too! Why not? WHAT Are you ready for some football? WHERE outside on the lawn WHEN afternoon, with all the sun that Daylight Savings Time provides
Pete wrapped up the business in the lab when the little alarm on his desktop went off. As he was technically still in his development stages, scheduled activity came and went as test results were measured. Not only that, but it just wasn't healthy to stay cooped up inside all day...
So, outside, Pete had shrugged out of his dress shirt and into something a little more casual, shoes removed and placed somewhere off to the side of the school's backyard. His large hands spun the football between his fingers until just the right grip was achieved. He measured his distance, he kept his eye steady, and with a couple backwards steps, set off a winning pass across the lawn. The moment the football left his grip, the race was on; long loping steps grew more honed the faster he went, head cocked back to keep an eye on the ball as he raced his own throw. Apex hit, it was only a matter of time before the ball returned to Earth and with a leap, Pete snagged the football from the air and landed deftly on his feet.
It wasn't so much playing catch with yourself as it was ... singularly inspired exercise.
