"A man was arrested today after the seemingly random killing of a police detective last Saturday. Police officers are assaulted and killed off duty every year, usually by criminals who successfully evaded arrest or were recently released from jail, and is often the default assumption when investigating the murder of an officer of the law. However, the manner of Det. Harold Egan's death has made law enforcement suspicious of its circumstances. It's been confirmed that he died of a single bullet in his head and was shot multiple times in the abdomen and genitals after his death, suggesting a personal grudge. Police suspicions were confirmed when the suspect was finally caught. He confessed to a single murder, and identified his victim only as 'The Punisher'; evidence linking the suspect and Egan's murder suggests that the perpetrator was under the impression that Egan himself was the famed Punisher, a violent vigilante known for murdering suspected and convicted criminals and is assumed to be the successor of the original Punisher, Frank Castle. Castle currently resides in Ryker's Maximum Security Prison and could not be reached for a comment. ----Up next, should milk that isn't from a cow be called milk?
