May 11th - FFVII (Vincent, demons, top dog)
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII

Prompt: May 11 - Vincent, demons; top dog

They say three is a crowd. Vincent had four other to share his body and mind; four demons courtesy of the professor Hojo. As the righteous owner of the body he hated to share but Fate (and the mad scientist) made it so, anyway. So he coped, and tried to establish his dominance over the others. Out of them, the Galian Beast was the easiest to deal with. The Beast only took command of their body during battles; once their enemies dead it faded back, allowing Vincent to once again take over.
Death Gigas and Hellmasker was a bit more harder to control; they liked to fight and destroy property, but their nature didn't allow them to concentrate for long. They depended on their instincts too much to dominate Vincent's mind for long. After a battle ended Vincent pushed himself forward and claimed back his body with just the slightest struggle.
But whenever Chaos take over it was a fifty-fifty chance of taking back the body. Chaos was strong and cunning, never ready to fade back. Vincent was aware of the struggle of coming back - sometimes half an hour, sometimes two hours already passed after the battle's end before the wings shifted back to the cape and the body became human.
Still, it was clear who was the real owner of the body and who was only a guest - from time to time again Vincent fought back the demons' mind and will with success. He was the top dog in their little pack of demons and human. And as long as the others didn't try to upset the order Vincent would cope and live with them. After all, there was nothing else to do.
