Okay, didn't have quite the turnout I hoped for the last round of Gen Challenge, and I was just making sure everyone was alive out there.

That, and I have a question for you all. I had a few people ask if we were going to do the ad style, such as what Yaoi and Het challenges had done on LJ.

Is there an interest in this? Or would you prefer to stick to this style of claiming?

Basically, the other comms ran a series of challenges in which authors provided ads saying what they would or would not be interested in writing - lists of fandoms, and lists of pairings (or since this is gen challenge, probably characters) that they found interesting. The authors would toss in something about their writing style - i.e. "I want to write fluff." "I refuse to write smut." etc. - and then everyone who had sent in an ad made requests of several different posters. The requests for each ad were then emailed to the participant, who picked one or several to work on during the course of the challenge. Fics were posted under pseudonyms, with everyone having access to basically a sock puppet account to keep the anon posting anonymous - h_c_anon and y_c_anon by name - with a grand reveal at the end. And possibly a guessing game so that people could try and match pseudonym to particpant's real name, but maybe that was just blind_go. ^^;;; It's a lot of fun, but it does require a decent number of participants.

What have they done, out of curiosity? I don't belong to either.

Still interested, BTW. Life just got away from me.
