I do believe French women as a whole and in general are more careful about what they wear (have clothes that flatter them personally). German/Dutch women would be more concerned with practicality (more one-size-fits-all) and Italian/Spanish women would be more into all wearing the same kind of (skin-revealing) stuff whether it flatters them or not. For instance I don't know any French girls that wear high heels if they don't know how to walk in them (and this has nothing to with how they look). I do know German women who look great, have a great body and wear stylish heels and still look completely ridiculous because they walk in them like they're regular pumps. This wouldn't happen here, people like me who don't care about being careful how they walk just don't wear high heels.
I also feel more at home in northern Europe because not having to think about what I'm wearing and how I'm wearing it is a relief.
I am well aware that this perception could be because I've been brought up to see things in a certain light and that we might appear to all look alike and ridiculous to foreign eyes.
