Lincoln had left a note on Daisy's pillow so that she couldn't fail to notice the invitation to dinner when she went back to their room. He wasn't sure when she'd show up in the kitchen, but until she did he was making himself useful cooking up as many of her favourite foods as he could manage. Anything she wasn't in the mood to eat right away they could freeze or eat as leftovers. Lincoln was pretty sure that, with their high metabolisms, nothing would go to waste.
It wasn't the first time he'd tried to do something special for his girlfriend, but the whole candy business had really put a crimp in his plans on Valentine's Day. Besides, this was far less predictable than simply doing what everyone else did for their lovers on a day that was more about commercial interests than making the woman he loved aware of what she meant to him and Daisy Johnson meant the world to Lincoln. He'd do anything for her. Hell, he'd followed her into battle without knowing whether they'd come back time and again! What made it all the more special was that she could now relax, knowing that Grant Ward wasn't about to pop up at any moment and kidnap her, or worse.
Lincoln was fussing around some mini-pizzas when Daisy came into the kitchen. "You look amazing, as always," he told her as he wiped his hands on his apron and pulled her into a gentle kiss. "So, I'm renaming the 21st of February Daisy Day," Lincoln told her with a soft smile, "screw the whole Valentine thing, you deserve a day that's all yours. C'mere," he said as he guided her to the fridge, "I've put together a few things for you. There's pizza, tacos, a bunch of different burgers and all kinds of desserts, so name your poison and I'll get you hooked up with it," he said grinning. "Don't worry, I'll figure out a way to help you burn off the calories later," Lincoln gave her a quick wiggle of his eyebrows. "So, what's it to be?"
