Waking up in the strange hotel had been rather a surprise, considering The Doctor had expected to wake up in a new body rather than a new location, but it wasn't the strangest thing that had happened to him lately. Or ever. In fact it barely came close. So far there were no alien invaders or people attempting to destroy the planet (though what planet they were on was currently under review) which made this almost a holiday. Of course, The Doctor was waiting for the harshest of realities to strike at any moment, but it hadn't happened yet and the room service the hotel offered was truly excellent!
"Oooh! Bonbons!" The Doctor popped one into his mouth with delight as he slid the tablet into the pocket of his overcoat and headed out of his room to explore. It seemed to be a fairly normal, high-end, hotel, with good facilities, store rooms of fresh produce and truly delicious treats scattered throughout the place, which The Doctor was more than happy to sample as he investigated. So far he hadn't met anyone, but from his initial investigations of the network there were clearly others staying in the hotel.
He meandered his way down to the check-in desk and started poking around, trying to see if this place had been abandoned or if there were actually staff here. He rang the big brass bell a few times, just to see what would happen, and was rewarded with absolutely nothing. "Well, that was an anti-climax," he muttered to himself, popping another sweet into his mouth before he walked towards the double doors that led outside. He was just reaching for them when one of the doors moved towards him. "Oooh, automatic doors, aren't you clever?" The Doctor said to the hotel at large, before noticing that there was someone entering the building. "Okay, easy mistake to make," he shrugged as he peered around the door and smiled brightly at the young man who appeared. "Well, hello! You're the first person I've seen since I've arrived!" He held out his hand to the young man, "nice to meet you, I'm The Doctor."
