Despite the legalities of same sex marriage within the wizarding world, Ophelia Chambers and Gemma Farley were perfect for one another. They’d been romantically involved since 1996, and had been through their share of life events together. This entire proposal event made since for them.

Ophelia had planned an elaborate date for their four year anniversary. Taking Gemma to their favourite restaurant they gorged themselves on high end dishes and top shelf wine. They attended a ballet performance on Euphoria Lane. And finally they ended the night in the middle of The Wizarding World Museum of History & Art in Glasgow.

Stopping oddly in the middle of the Dark Artifact Exhibit, Gemma’s favourite, Ophelia took Gemma’s hands in hers and bent down on one knee. A ring the size of an iceberg was pulled from her pocket and that question was lovingly asked.

“Gemma Farley… will you marry me?”

Gemma, looked stunned. Her eyes wide as she glanced awkwardly around at the crowd that had gathered. Familiar faces of loved ones giddily present. She laughed at the sight of the Carmichael brothers holding signs that read, ’Say Yes... “ and ’....Or this will be awkward.’

“YES!” Gemma beamed, tears of joy present.

An applause filled the gallery and the two women embraced emotionally. A kiss was exchanged and their friends rounded on them. Exchanging hugs, tears, and congratulations.

“How’d you all keep this a secret for so long!?” Gemma laughed as Jaclyn Wood handed her a handkerchief for her face.

“Your super secret planning committee didn’t tell everyone until about an hour ago,” Corrine Bradley answered as she hugged Gemma in congratulations..

“Yes! Thank you for coming everyone!” Ophelia called out to no one in particular.

After properly hugging Penelope Clearwater, Sheryl and Terence Higgs; Pavak Patil and the Carmichael boys began to rally the group of friends to the nearest pub for celebratory drinks.

Sure, the couple couldn’t legally marry - but vow ceremonies and public declarations of unions were totally a thing that they absolutely wanted that for themselves.
