Pansy fussed and fussed with her hair and her robes and her makeup in front of the mirror in the entrance hall as she waited for Roger to come get her. "What am I doing?" she asked herself, wrapping her fingers around the edge of the top of the spindly table beneath the mirror until her knuckles turned white. "What am I doing?" How had Roger talked her into going to see some supposed Seer-trainer? The nightmares weren't that bad were they? She'd lived with them for years after all. Sleep wasn't that important.
But then the memory of Roger's face when he'd woken her from a particularly bad dream was enough to keep her from fleeing back upstairs to hide. As she kept dozing off on his couch whenever she went to his flat no matter how good her intentions, she didn't think that just pretending that nothing was wrong was going to work any more. He'd seen her or heard her weeping in her sleep too often. Her choices had dwindled to either finding a way to deal with this curse more gracefully or stopping herself from visiting Roger.
When the wards chimed, she looked up sharply. One of the elves scurried past her to open the door as she forced her aching hands to let go of the tabletop.
