Beatrice was beyond psyched that the day was finally here. She and Pansy had run around like mad women all week nailing down the finer details for the event at large and their particular errands. From caters and wine tastings, linens and flowers, dress fittings and escort practice, it was finally over and time for the event. The ballroom looked fantastic, but Bea did too. Even more so.
People were already milling in the main room and Bea couldn’t help but peak out from a door off the back corridor. All the debs were to be presented properly after the crowd assembled and her nerves left her jittery, but excited. She had worked hard for this and it looked like all the details were in place and that for once things in their world had finally settled down enough to allow purebloods and muggleborns alike to be presented to society.
Beatrice watched through a door from where the debutantes were preparing, like an actor through the curtain from backstage. As she observed the men and women in the main ballroom, the men dressed in formal black tie and the women in elegant multicolored ballgowns, she couldn’t help but grin at what a fine figure she cut in her own gown. Her glove clad fingers pushed the door shut and she turned back from the crowd as someone called her attention away.
