Grin and bear it. That's what his instincts were telling him to do, but Gambit couldn't let her get away with such a petty little threat, whether it was coming from her or just a general speculation. "You know, you are probably right, but what kinda girl would wanna hit a baby face like this?" Remy attempted to smile and act innocent for the moment while waving a hand over his face but quickly gave up the act and started laughing. Surely, Gambit had looks, the charm and just the wit to get past the walls of insecurity women like to construct, however, Rogue was a different story.
Gambit had tried to mess around with her, and irritate her a little but but she didn't dig it. You see, Rogue has this 'I-don't-take-shit-from-nobody' type of attitude and wouldn't hesitate to smack anyone around, regardless of how tough, powerful or pretty looking they are. Gambit didn't want to have any of that, but he absolutely enjoyed getting her all flustered and throwing her into a temper tantrum. It was just one of those things he had to do, at least once while they were together and lately, that time has increased. Whether it was lunch, or goin for a ride on the bike, they have been doing more things together which was a lot better than a few months ago.
"Well, I aint got dat much money, cher, so I guess it's a good t'ing you like me and give me free stuff." Gambit said under the ruse of a joke, or was it. Not the money part, but the other one. The Cajun didn't have much a need for money, but he had it. It was almost like taking money from a baby when he was hired for a heist.
