Characters: Barty Crouch, Jr. & Marlene McKinnon Setting: 6th Year Slytherin Boys' Dorm; Friday, 15 October; nighttime Content: R
It had been a busy week for Barty - and it was going to get busier still. Hogsmeade was happening tomorrow, all of that, and so on ad nauseam. And, boy, even when one did none to little of the prescribed homework, one could still get very tired. Barty had been yawning all day. His field trip with Regulus into the Dark Forest the night before had certainly been adventuresome -- and exhausting.
That didn't mean, however, that Barty wasn't ready for more - or that he wasn't anticipating his next visit. No. It just meant that he was a little tired. It just meant that he was stretched out on his fourposter, still fully dressed in his school uniform (only without the robes and hat), with the hangings drawn all around. The Boys' Dorm was dark; all torches extinguished. He hoped that Marlene could smuggle herself into the Common Room as easily as he could smuggle himself into the Ravenclaw Common Room (riddles weren't much of a password if you weren't absolutely stupid).
In any case, he would wait and see. And in the meantime, he would close his eyes and hum a little tune.
