Lily saw Adam come in, but didn't feel any urge to talk to him at present. She was immersed in her transfiguration homework - it was proving to be quite tricky. All those things you had to think off before turning wood into living things: the wrist movement, the spell, the calculations of the proportions of the thing...blah! She was just starting to think about rewriting her notes (to see if it all sunk in) when Adam caught her attention. He was attempting to play his guitar...and failing miserably at it too.
Grinning, Lily stood up and walked over just as the boy slumped, defeated on the couch. "Is everything okay?" she asked, sort of knowing what the answer would be. "If you want that to work without a plug, there's a simple charm you could use."
Lily had always liked Adam, since before he had turned a little...weird. He was a nice, smart boy, even if he had lately gotten into the habit of losing control. She couldn't blame him for it sometimes, either.
