Aisling glared out the window, willing the rain to go away. It didn't work, but no surprise there - it never worked. She traced her fingertip along the glass before she exhaled heavily and dropped her attention to her book.
At least it was math. She liked math; the numbers made sense. The numbers were constant. Analysis of literature could have any number of answers and points could be argued, but numbers had only one right answer.
Or set of answers, she mused, grinning to herself as she held her hand over her pencil. It leapt up into her hand and her grin broadened as she turned her attention back to the paper and the tidy lines of numbers.
It was a pity it was raining. It was hardly worth going out on a day like this; wet clothing clinging and the chill sinking into her. No, she'd just wait for better weather and go out then.
Stretching in her window seat, Aisling listened to the rain pattering on the glass as she did her homework.
