Who: Lily Evans, Harry, Faustus
Where: RoR, Hogwarts
When: Morning, September 10, 2024
Rating/Warning: Swearing? Angst? Idk
Summary: Lily thinks she's stepped out of the wrong Floo ... but it's a bit more complicated than that.
Status: Complete
"I promise. Extra careful." She laughed softly as she pressed a kiss to James' mouth, drawing away before she let him deepen it. "Just Flooing to the house to drop this off, then right back. The place isn't going to decorate itself, you know."
She was excited, but busy to the point of being drained. Between planning the wedding and the work for the Order - even if she wasn't doing much, yet - and keeping James and Sirius out of trouble as well as she could ... she sometimes just wanted to curl up somewhere and sleep for a week. Or two.
Of course, if she did that, she'd sleep through her wedding.
With a smile on her lips, Lily shouldered her bag and stepped to the fireplace. Tossing in a bit of the powder she stepped in and announced the address of their new home, the quaint little house James' parents had purchased for them in Godric's Hollow.
Only when she stepped out ... it wasn't the house in the Hollow.
And she wasn't alone.
Her arm flexed reflexively and she realized with a dash of horror that she was unarmed - and her bag had gone missing, too - in a room with two strange men. Strange, yet ... strangely familiar at the same time. "Sorry," Lily murmured. They were wizards, clearly, by their robes. Aurors, she thought, and this was odd.
Emerald eyes flicked around, but no ... definitely not her home. Or anywhere else she was familiar with. "Must've stepped out of the ... the wrong Floo," she continued. Her nostrils flared slightly, but that was the only real outward sign of her unease. She did take a step back toward the fireplace, her skirt brushing against her thighs as she moved.
But the fire - a very blue fire - was still burning, and there was no evidence in her quick glance that there was Floo powder anywhere. So how, exactly, had she wound up here, and moreover, where was here?
Emerald gaze swept back to study the two men again. One ... the younger one ... reminded her of Severus, though she couldn't place exactly how. Something about his face. The other ... looked a bit like James. Or, how she imagined James would look when he was grown up. Things ... simply kept getting odder, and she found all she could do was just ... wait for an explanation.
