Once they were safely back on hallowed Hogwarts ground, Sirius finally started to feel the relief he had known was waiting for this very moment. "Merlin," he muttered, resting his forehead briefly on Remus' shoulder, his arms wrapped tightly around him. It was over. The bitch was a werewolf, and they were home. He never had to go to that hellhole ever again. He took a long inhale of breath, and then slowly exhaled. "Moony...I don't know how I can ever thank you for this." He raised his head from Remus' shoulder and looked at him solemnly. But he couldn't help a smile as he leaned in and kissed him, briefly but with feeling. He wanted to stammer through a whole speech about everything, about his whole life, and about how much this mattered to him, about how much Remus mattered to him, but he was pretty sure he wouldn't make much sense anyway.
