"Stay," Lupin said the word quickly, letting it fall from his mouth without the thought ever passing from his brain. There was only one answer that questions. "Always...stay," he added, and his fingers wove tightly through Sirius's hand, a lifeline for a lifetime in his minds. Wolves and Lupins mated for life; there would never be anyone else for him*. One leg lifted slowly and painfully, and then he kicked the woman in her side, repeatedly until she woke up. It didn't matter how long it took; it only matter what he wanted to say. When her remaining eye finally rolled open, Lupin leaned down and spoke quickly and sharply. "IF you kill yourself, or try to hurt yourself in anyway, I'll come back and do Regina so your line of 'clean' blood will end." His voice was stern and more together now that it needed to be, but he still wanted to get out of here.
